The Minister of Energy has also announced a 36-megawatt power plant project in Djanet, scheduled to enter service in late 2018 and early 2019.
This future power plant will strengthen the electricity supply capacities of the delegated wilaya of Djanet, with a tourism vocation par excellence, to ensure its self-sufficiency in this area and to contribute to the development of various industrial activities in the region, Explained.
Mr. Boutarfa has completed his one-day visit to the Illizi wilaya, which has also inspected the Illizi-Djanet pipeline, with an annual transmission capacity of 150 million M3, in Djanet.
The 379-kilometer long pipeline aims to supply natural gas to existing power plants and power stations in Djanet and neighboring localities, including Fadhnoune, Ifni, Ihrir, and the Bordj El-Haouès region, according to The technical sheet of the project.
