After noting tensions over plane tickets departing from Algeria, particularly to France, the high authorities decided to react. Indeed, the Ministry of Transport announced an additional program “in the application of the decision of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which provides for the reinforcement of air frequencies for travelers, in particular on the France network”.

He thus gives a favorable response to certain deputies who have mentioned this embarrassing situation on Facebook or during media statements.

Overall, we note that the number of flights will experience an increase of almost 50%, with 82 new services per week between the two countries, including 79 for Air Algérie and 3 for Tassili Airlines which had Strasbourg, Nantes and Paris in its program. -Charles-de-Gaulle.

Observers have pointed out that these increases in frequencies came after the recent Council of Ministers chaired by the head of state, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

Thus, the total of rotations with France granted to Air Algérie and Tassili Airlines now amounts to 262 per week, including 249 operated by Air Algérie.

We are gradually approaching air traffic before the health crisis. The offer is expanding, also taking into account the principle of reciprocity. In view of the attractiveness and high profitability of the Algerian market, the airlines operating from France to Algeria, namely Air France, Transavia, ASL Airlines, Vueling, Volotea and incidentally Tui fly will no doubt soon to increase the number of their flights.

This will bring the number of flights per week between France and Algeria to 524, i.e. an appreciable average of 75 per day.

Air Algérie is fully engaged in this battle in the sky with its large capacity A-330 aircraft in terms of the number of seats. These additions will thus fill the current deficit, allowing Algerians living abroad to find places and availability to reach their places of residence.

For the rest of the year, mobility will be easier between the two shores for professional or personal reasons, even if the Algerians who travel to France are dependent on the Schengen visas issued and whose number has been drastically reduced by the services consular officers of the French Embassy.

Another consequence: the fall in the price of the ticket, because the offer is largely sufficient. Thanks to “yield management”, all airlines will now play on their prices to increase their income.

What is it about? Quite simply to change the price of seats in real-time to optimize revenue. The seats available for sale are divided between different classes, to which correspond as many fares, calculated according to the reservation period, the type of seat, the distribution channel (internet, agency)… The increase in capacity will also allow travelers from other countries to transit via France to reach, for example, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Spain.

The authorities have not only increased flights but added a list of airports served in both Algeria and France. A way of distributing flows to different airports and also avoiding long journeys for travelers before boarding.

Flights will now be provided from the airports of Batna, Biskra, El Oued, which have been closed to international traffic since March 2020.

In France, the airports of Metz, Bordeaux, and Mulhouse will again welcome flights from Air Algérie. These new capacities will also increase the room for maneuver of Yacine Benslimane, CEO of the national company, in charge since June 2022. His mission is to generate significant growth momentum and materialize the company’s restructuring project, “a closed file priority” by the public authorities.
