Israeli occupation forces attacked thousands of Muslim worshipers inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Al-Quds at dawn on Friday. More than 150 Palestinians were injured in the clashes that followed the violation of the sanctity of this mosque and 400 others were arrested.

Numerous reactions of condemnation of the incursion by Israeli forces inside Al-Aqsa, which Algeria condemned as a “serious aggression”, and underlined the “need to ensure total protection for Muslim worshipers and to allow them to perform their rituals in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is an Islamic waqf”.

But a voice remained strangely silent. It is that of Mohamed VI, chairman of the Al Quds committee. During the bloody repression in the spring of 2021 in Al Quds, the king of Morocco did not react.

“The Muslim world is shocked by the deafening silence of the” virtual “president of the Al Quds Committee, a body supposed to watch over and protect the Muslim holy places of the city”, tackles AB, former Algerian ambassador, in a statement to TSA this Saturday, April 16.

The latter remarks that “faced with the surge of violence which is savagely falling on the innocent Palestinians on the esplanade of the mosques, King Mohamed VI nevertheless found the time to send a message of congratulations to the Queen of Denmark at the occasion of his birthday! »

“Double betrayal”

After finding Mohamed VI’s silence on the repression that fell on the Palestinians inside the Al-Aqsa mosque itself, the former Algerian ambassador explains the objectives of the Moroccan monarchy behind “the instrumentalization” of the Al-Quds committee.

Created in 1975, this body has only met twice, the last meeting of which dates back to 2014.

The first objective of this “instrumentalization” is to “legitimize the self-proclaimed status of the commander of believers so as not to be overwhelmed by Islamist currents” and then to provide a capacity for maneuver and influence in order to preserve good relations with Israel,” he develops.

“Today with an assumed normalization, the result of a double betrayal made on the backs of the Palestinian and Sahrawi peoples, it is clear that the Palestinian question has become a red line, just like the question of Western Sahara and that concerning the quasi deification of the monarchy. So, to the enchanted kingdom. Everything is going for the best in the best of all possible worlds,” he adds.
