The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad called on the international community to “assume its full and complete legal and moral responsibility” towards the Palestinian people

Tunisia strongly condemned, on Saturday, the attacks carried out by the Israeli occupying forces and the Jewish settlers in the occupied Palestinian territories, denouncing the repeated attacks against the al-Aqsa mosque and the attacks targeting the faithful.

Clashes erupted at the al-Aqsa Mosque on Friday after the Dawn Prayer was performed when Israeli police broke into the grounds of the Muslim place of worship, sparking outrage at the Arab and international level.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said in a statement that “153 Palestinians were injured” as a result of the Israeli incursion, just as the Commission for Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs pointed out that the Israeli police arrested some 400 Palestinians inside the mosque.

In a press release, consulted by Anadolu Agency, Tunisian diplomacy strongly condemned “the attacks carried out by the Israeli occupying forces and Jewish settlers in the occupied Palestinian territories, in particular in Jenin, Bethlehem (West Bank), in Bab al-Amoud in the holy city of Jerusalem”.

Tunisia also denounced the repeated attacks against the Al-Aqsa mosque and the attacks targeting the faithful, castigating the desecration of holy places particularly in this month of Ramadan.

“These attacks reflect once again the persistence of the occupying forces in their racist and discriminatory policies and their disregard for all international resolutions and covenants,” the statement continued.

Tunisia reiterated its appeal to the international community to “assume its full and complete legal and moral responsibility towards the Palestinian people, with regard to dealing with issues related to the occupation and aggression with the same standards and criteria”.

Tunisian diplomacy reaffirmed Tunisia’s firm and principled position in favor of the just Palestinian cause and the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
