On the spot, he stressed the need to step up efforts to monitor the situation of Algerians in Ukraine and of those who fled this country to Poland, Romania, and Hungary, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Lamamra asked the crisis unit, which was created for this purpose, to be in permanent contact with the Algerian diplomatic services in Kyiv, Warsaw, Bucharest, and Budapest, with a view to coordinating efforts in order to ensure the care of Algerian nationals until their repatriation to Algeria.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also held a coordination meeting, by videoconference with the ambassadors of Algeria in Ukraine, Poland, Romania, and Hungary.

During this meeting, Ramtane Lamamra stressed the importance of making maximum efforts and deploying the necessary means to ensure the safety of Algerian nationals in these difficult circumstances.

He asked them to take the necessary measures to accommodate them in the transit centers, while waiting for the repatriation flights to be organized, according to the same source.
