The US foreign aid agency Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) received the visit of the Tunisian Minister of Economy and Finance, Ali Kooli, on Wednesday, currently visiting Washington who spoke with the officials of the agency the finalization of a financing agreement worth the US $500 million for Tunisia.
In a statement, the MCC clarified that the Biden Administration is keen to build on the strong partnership between the agency and the finalization of the said agreement which aims to boost the country’s economic growth and reduce poverty, two of its main priorities.
The proposed convention, which focuses on the transport, trade, and water sectors, is intended to support the Tunisian government’s reform efforts, including public transport companies through significant investments in infrastructure. set technical assistance.
The final negotiations for the finalization of this agreement are being held this month and the MCC hopes to submit it for the approval of its Board of Directors during the month of June.
