The Minister of Health, Ali Mrabet, met yesterday, Monday August 07, the Chinese Vice-Minister of Health, Lei Haichao, who is on an official visit to Tunisia, from August 05 to 09, in the presence of the Ambassador of China in Tunis, Wan Li and ministry officials.
Mrabet emphasized the age of friendship and cooperation relations between Tunisia and China in various fields, particularly health, recalling the joint programs for the consolidation of infrastructure and health services in the regions. priorities, through the Chinese medical missions in Tunisia, the construction of the new hospital in Sfax, and the improvement of the skills of health professionals in different specialties.
The minister praised the Chinese government’s contribution to supporting the national effort to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Chinese Vice Minister of Health praised the level of Sino-Tunisian cooperation relations in the health sector, recalling that 50 years have passed since the delivery of Chinese medical teams to Tunisia, and the establishment of the acupuncture center at the CHU Mongi Slim in La Marsa since 1994.
China is willing to consolidate its partnership with Tunisia and diversify its fields, he said.
Visiting the emergency medical aid service (SAMU) yesterday, Lei Haichao underlined his country’s provisions to continue cooperation with Tunisia in the field of pandemic prevention and the fight against health emergencies.
