Tunisia and China Expand Cooperation to New Areas

Head of government Najla Bouden met on Friday at the Kasbah Palace with the ambassadors of Indonesia, the Republic of China and Finland to Tunisia.

During his meeting with Indonesian Ambassador Zuhairi Misrawi, Bouden hailed the excellent historical relations that bind the two countries, expressing Tunisia’s willingness to strengthen its cooperation with Indonesia in several promising areas including trade, investment and higher education, reads a press release from the presidency of the government.

Bouden also stressed the importance of concretizing the next deadlines, in particular the holding of the 11th Tunisian-Indonesian joint commission in Jakarta, “with the aim of giving new impetus to bilateral relations in many fields.”

For his part, the Indonesian ambassador expressed his country’s readiness to strengthen the prospects for bilateral cooperation. he underlined his country’s conviction of the value and richness of religious education in Tunisia, which is characterized by moderation, highlighting the desire to develop bilateral cooperation in the field of religious studies and training .

During his meeting with Chinese Ambassador Wan Li, Bouden stressed the need to expand bilateral cooperation to new areas, taking into account the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples”.

She also praised the level of Tunisian-Chinese cooperation, which has materialized in “the realization of a certain number of Chinese projects in Tunisia, in the fields of health, infrastructure, youth, sports, of training and culture”, reads a second press release from the Presidency of the Government.

For his part, the Chinese ambassador hailed the level of cooperation between the two countries, stressing his country’s willingness to continue joint work and raise the level of bilateral cooperation.

During her meeting with Finnish Ambassador to Tunisia Teemu Sepponen, the head of government praised the level of friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries, indicating that the government is developing economic reform programs, including programs for the economic empowerment of young people and the encouragement of the creation of projects in the fields of new technologies, digitization and artificial intelligence.

The Finnish Ambassador, on this occasion, expressed his country’s desire to support cooperation relations, particularly in the field of communication technologies.

He mentioned the results of the fruitful visit that the Minister of Communication Technologies made to Finland in February 2023 and which mainly focused on the means of developing Tunisian-Finnish cooperation and exchanging experiences and expertise in areas of e-governance, digital services and modernization of administration
