The CEO of the Export Promotion Center (CEPEX), Mourad Ben Hassine met on Thursday with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh residing in Tripoli, Shamim Al-Zaman.

During their meeting, ”the two sides reaffirmed the depth of historical ties and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in trade and economic fields”.

For his part, the ambassador on a working visit to Tunisia from September 21 to 23, 2022, stressed that “the demand for dates is increasing on the Bangladeshi market (170 million consumers), knowing that exports to this country, represent 3% of total national exports to this market,” TAP reported. And to add that ”his country is ready to invest in Tunisia”.

According to the same source, “Tunisia imports several products from Bangladesh, including textile and clothing (TH) inputs (70% of Tunisian imports in the TH sector are imported from the Bangladeshi market), followed by leather and shoes (7%)”.

Note that Tunisia ”exports mineral and chemical fertilizers (phosphate) to Bangladesh up to 95% of total Tunisian exports in this area”, still according to TAP.
