Tunisia: Actor Hichem Rostom Dies at the Age of 75

Born May 26, 1947, in La Marsa, the actor has played in several Tunisian and foreign films

The famous Tunisian actor Hichem Rostom died on Tuesday at the age of 75.

The native of La Marsa was found inert at his home by Civil Protection units following an alert from neighbors.

The Tunisian boasted of a great theatrical and cinematographic career during which he was honored, in 2006, at the Cairo International Film Festival for his participation in international cinema, but also for having won in 2012 the Special Prize for of his work at the International Film Festival Ecrans Noirs in Libreville, then the Prize for Best Actor for “The Fifth String” at the International Arab Film Festival in Oran.

Hichem Rostom had directed two editions of the Carthage Theatrical Days (JTC). He is also one of the founders of the Rouhaniyet Festival of spiritual and Sufi songs.
