The World Bank Will Support Tunisia in the Execution of Its Reform Program

The World Bank (WB) is ready to support Tunisia in the execution of its reform program and to pursue the implementation of ongoing cooperation projects.

WB Group Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Ferid Belhaj, said this during a meeting held on Friday with the Tunisian Minister of Finance, Sihem Boughdiri.

Among the ongoing projects are the social protection program and the support program for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which indicates the Tunisian Ministry of Finance.

Sihem Boughdiri highlighted the agreement reached between the Tunisian government and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), noting that an IMF working team is carrying out talks with the Tunisian side from February 14 to 22, 2022. on the reform program.

“The Tunisian State respects, despite the difficulties, its commitments with international donors and fulfills its social and economic role internally”, she underlined, welcoming the efforts made by the world institution to support the economic and social development of Tunisia. And Boughdiri specified that Tunisia relied on the support of its economic partners during this difficult period.
