The Body of the 14-Year-old Moroccan Woman Killed in Spain Will Be Repatriated to Morocco

The court of the first instance of Alcalá la Real (Jaén) has authorized the repatriation to Morocco of the body of Khawla EZ, the young Moroccan girl found dead on Tuesday in an abandoned church in the city. The murderer was remanded in custody on Friday.

The judge authorized the repatriation to Morocco of the body of the 14-year-old Moroccan minor killed by a 22-year-old young man of Dominican origin last Tuesday in the municipality of Jaén. He also ordered the provisional detention without bail of the alleged murderer prosecuted for the alleged crimes of murder and sexual assault, Canal Sur reported.

After investigation, the police confirmed that the victim and her attacker knew each other, but were not romantically involved. Accordingly, the case will not be considered a case of gender-based violence. In addition, the autopsy revealed that asphyxia was the cause of death.

Upon his arrival at the Alcalá la Real court on Friday, the alleged perpetrator was booed by the victim’s relatives demanding justice. During his interrogation, the accused chose not to testify. On the other hand, three minors, friends of the victim, and another witness appeared. After eight hours of hearing, the judge ordered his placement in pre-trial detention.
