The Algerian bank in Mauritania has just officially obtained its approval from the Mauritanian Central Bank, thus becoming the second national bank approved abroad after the Algerian bank in Senegal, announced Thursday in Algiers, the Minister of Finance, Laaziz Faid.

“The Algerian bank in Mauritania obtained, yesterday (Wednesday), the authorization of the Mauritanian Central Bank to start its activity”, indicated Mr. Faid during the opening of an Information Day organized by the Caisse National Savings and Provident Fund (Cnep-Banque), for the benefit of economic operators.

Thus, the Algerian bank in Mauritania becomes the second national bank to obtain its approval abroad, after the one having obtained its approval from the Senegalese financial authorities, last April, which represents a first for a bank Algerian, to be approved abroad.

The creation of these two banks is the result of a shareholding of four Algerian public banks, namely the National Bank of Algeria (BNA), the People’s Credit of Algeria (CPA), the External Bank of Algeria (BEA), and the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Badr).

In addition to these two banks, another project is underway for the opening of the Algerian international foreign bank in Paris.
