Summer Camp in Algeria for 2,000 Algerian Children from France: Conditions and Registration

Children from the Algerian community in France will benefit from a summer camp in Algeria next summer, organized by the Grand Mosque of Paris in collaboration with the Algerian Ministry of Youth and Sports.

For the third consecutive year, the Grand Mosque of Paris is organizing a summer camp in Algeria for the benefit of the children of Algerians in France.

Summer camp: “For the 2024 summer season, 2000 children expected”

During the first edition of this initiative, organized in December 2022, 60 children, aged 10 to 14, from the Algerian community in Europe (France, Great Britain, Norway, etc.) went to Algeria.

Participants discovered several emblematic Algerian monuments, the remains of Tipaza, the Tikjda mountains, and the M’zab valley in  Ghardaia. The following year, the initiative reached 900 children of Algerian origin from all over France.

“  For the 2024 summer season, 2,000 children are now expected, through two initial sessions, starting July 11, 2024,” announces the Grand Mosque of Paris in a press release.

This year, the colony will be organized in two sessions: from July 11 to July 22, 2024, and from July 25 to August 4, 2024, specifies the same source. Departure and return will be from four airports in France, namely Paris, Lille, Lyon, and Marseille.

Conditions and procedures for registering for summer camp in Algeria 

According to the press release from the Grand Mosque of Paris, the costs linked to the stay, activities, accommodation, transport as well as meals for the participating children “are covered”.

As for the conditions, participation this year concerns children (girls and boys) born between August 1, 2010 and December 31, 2014 (10 to 14 years old). In addition, registration is limited to “a maximum of two members of the same family”. 

Children participating in the camp must also hold a valid Algerian passport. 

During the stay as part of this colony, which lasts 10 days, the selected children will be accompanied and supervised by qualified guides and local facilitators from the Algerian Ministry of Youth and Sports.

To register their children, parents must complete the registration form available on the Grand Mosque of Paris website.
