Spain’s borders will remain closed until January 31. So decided by the Spanish Interior Ministry.

The information is released on Wednesday. Spain is extending the closure of its external borders in the Schengen area, including the border crossing points separating Ceuta and Melilla from Morocco, until January 31, 2021. This order of the Spanish government, relayed by El Faro de Ceuta, extends thus one month the decree in force until Thursday, the last day of the year 2020.

However, this decision provides for exceptions and the entry of citizens or residents of the Schengen area, frontier workers, students with their corresponding visas, health professionals, including researchers in the health field. Elderly care professionals traveling to or from work, freight transport personnel, military, diplomatic or consular personnel may also travel.

These provisions do not change anything from previous measures linked to the coronavirus pandemic, underlines the same source.
