Immigration – Algeria visas and travel – The European Union recently issued a warning to Algerians wishing to obtain Schengen visas.

In order to fight against document fraud, the Delegation of the European Union in Algeria has launched an appeal to Algerian citizens who are applying for a Schengen visa , inviting them to be careful when compiling their file. This warning was issued via a statement posted on the delegation’s Facebook page.

The Delegation of the European Union and the consular services of the Member States of the Schengen area encourage applicants to provide authentic documents in their files. They emphasize that the fight against false documents is a priority for the consular services, which carry out authenticity checks on each piece of the visa file, such as bank statements, employment certificates, invitations, and others.

It should be noted that the Member States of the Schengen area have observed a significant increase in the falsification of documents. In most cases, these fraudulent documents are provided by intermediaries who offer their services for making appointments and preparing the visa file.

Therefore, the Delegation of the European Union in Algeria asks applicants to ensure that they present reliable and authentic documents in order to avoid any visa refusal. “The inclusion of fraudulent or falsified supporting documents in your visa file affects the credibility of your application and will lead to a visa refusal, as well as lasting consequences on the confidence granted by the consular services of the Member States”, specifies the delegation of the EU.

For its part, VFS Global, the operator responsible for collecting the files of Algerian visa applicants for France in the central region of the country, recently announced a major change through a press release published yesterday May 21 at the end of of day.

From now on, visa applicants for France have the possibility of submitting their application up to 6 months before the desired departure date. This new measure allows visa applicants to have more flexibility in planning their trip. “The validity of the visa will be adapted to the date indicated on the application form”, specifies VFS Global.

This announcement is excellent news for French visa applicants in Algeria, as it allows them to better organize their trip to France. They can now anticipate their visa application and obtain the document within a reasonable time before their departure.

Previously, visa applicants were forced to apply closer to their intended travel date, which could lead to longer waiting times and some uncertainty about getting the visa in time. With this change, applicants now have more time to gather the necessary documents, make an appointment and complete the required formalities.
