In France, three people, including two former police officers and a Franco-Algerian “lobbyist”, face several serious charges including that of aiding the illegal entry or stay of foreigners, reports the Journal du Dimanche, this Thursday September 29 ( paid item ).

In this case with multiple ramifications, it is particularly a question of the undue obtaining of French residence permits for Algerian nationals against land transfers in Algeria, reports the same source.

The police custody of these three suspects, which began on Monday, ended on Wednesday evening. They were to be presented this Thursday to a Parisian investigating judge after the opening of a judicial investigation.

Residence permits against land in Algeria

The so-called Tayeb B. is one of the three suspects. The businessman is presented as a Franco-Algerian consultant and lobbyist.

He is suspected of having played the role of “ordering party” in this affair. He would have used the services of a certain Malik N.-L. and a second peacekeeper, on availability from the Department of International Security Cooperation (DCIS).

The latter would also have intervened to allow the undue obtaining of French residence permits for Algerians. In return, he demanded promises to transfer land in Algeria.

He would thus have participated in the granting of several  residence permits,  according to information reported this Thursday by the newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche. According to the JDD, “many residence permits” have been granted in this way.

The French media does not specify the number of Algerians who obtained residence permits thanks to the three suspects. It also does not specify the location of the land in Algeria or the manner in which it was transferred. The investigation of justice should make it possible to lift the veil on this incredible affair.
