The cream of the cross-country racing crop are coming to Morocco this week to test themselves on the sand dunes of North Africa at theย Rallye du Maroc. We’re primed for intense battles in the car and bike categories, as racers look to secure pole position for the upcomingย Dakar Rally.
Looking to defend his Rallye du Maroc car title over 1,995km of timed racing is two-time Dakar winnerย Nasser Al-Attiyah. The Qatari’s Toyota is sure to come under fire though from the two PEUGEOT 3008 DKRs driven byย Carlos Sainzย andย Sรฉbastien Loeb.
Itโs two years since I made my cross-country debut in Morocco. I think itโs fair to say we have covered a great deal of ground and made good progress. We now need to convert that into victory
Further competition will come from not only the MINIs ofย Bryce Menziesย andย Kuba Przygoลski, but also the extreme heat and terrain that awaits at this six-stage cross-country rally.
