President Bouteflika dismisses Prime Minister Abdelmadjid Tebboune, appoints Ahmed Ouyahia

 

President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on Tuesday abolished the duties of Prime Minister Abdelmadjid Tebboune and appointed Ahmed Ouyahia to the post, according to a statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic.

“In accordance with article 91, paragraph 5 of the Constitution, His Excellency Mr. Abdelaziz Bouteflika, President of the Republic, today put an end to the functions of Prime Minister, exercised by Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune” Same source.

“In accordance with the same constitutional provisions, and after consultation of the parliamentary majority, the President of the Republic appointed Mr. Ahmed Ouayhia, Prime Minister,” the statement said.
