NEW YORK (United States)- Palestinians requested Wednesday at the UN Security Council to “assume responsibility” and force Israel to put an end to illegal colonization.
Speaking at a Security Council meeting on the Near East, Palestinian ambassador Riyad Mansour accused Israel of torpedoing any prospect for a Palestinian State.
“International calls for halt to Israel’s settlement activities and the crimes against the Palestinians, who should be backed by serious and concrete measures to force Israel to abide by the law,” he said.
The Palestinian official denounced the deadlock in Palestine, recalling that “During those last years, marked by UN Security Council’s silence, Israeli settlements have increased fourfold.”
“Security Council, Mansour told the ambassadors of the 15-permanent member countries, must take a quick action and adopt a (relevant) resolution.
