A first batch of 24 “AH-64 Apache” helicopters that Morocco had ordered from the American manufacturer Boeing will soon be delivered.

According to an informed source, Morocco will receive the first batch of these planes next year, Hespress reports. Initially scheduled for 2022, the delivery of the first batch has been postponed to 2023, with the aircraft being finalized. Technical modifications must also be added to this order. The American manufacturer Boeing will have to deliver the 24 aircraft to Morocco by 2025. In anticipation of receiving the first batch, the kingdom has undertaken the rehabilitation of the Khouribga military airport.

A contract for the purchase of 24 AH-64 Apache helicopters was concluded between the American aircraft manufacturer Boeing and the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) in June 2020. The AH-64 Apache helicopter is a model equipped with the latest communications systems, navigation, sensors, and weapons, which is currently deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan on US Army helicopters and on US Navy and Air Force aircraft. The cost of an AH-64 Apache is estimated at over $14.5 million.
