Morocco will acquire four aircraft G550 electronic warfare and ISR type of recognition following an agreement with the American manufacturer of private aircraft, Gulfstream Aerospace in 2019.
L3 Technologies, the American supplier specializing in ISR (intelligence, reconnaissance, and surveillance) systems, and electronics and communications systems for defense, homeland security, and civil aviation is working to equip four G550 aircraft. The Moroccan naval force could replace its current electromagnetic intelligence aircraft – C130 Hercules and Falcon 20ECM – with the four G550s.
“These planes would be used in ELINT [electronic intelligence] missions, capturing different radio frequencies used by land or air systems to determine their position, intercept them if they are not encrypted or locate their point of emission”, reported the Defensa newspaper.
