The party said that this ceremony “represents nothing but the remembrance of the Nakba, the land of Palestine and the deportation of the brotherly Palestinian people, which continues to this day”

The Moroccan justice and development party rejected the invitation of the diplomatic representative of Israel in Rabat to commemorate the creation of Israel.

“We deplore and decline the invitation sent by the representative of the Zionist entity (head of the Israeli liaison office in Morocco, Shai Cohen), to our parliamentary group to attend what he called the celebration of the creation of Israeli occupation,” the party lambasted.

In a statement, the Moroccan party stressed that “this day represents nothing but the memory of the Nakba and the displacement of the brotherly Palestinian people, which continues to this day”.

The statement did not indicate the place and date of the celebration.

Note that the Jewish state celebrated this occasion on April 26.

Israel celebrates every year inside the country and in its diplomatic representations abroad the commemoration of “Independence Day”, the day of the Proclamation of the State of Israel in 1948, called by the Palestinians , the Nakba, which corresponds according to the Hebrew calendar this year, to April 26.

On December 10, 2020, Israel and Morocco announced the resumption of their diplomatic relations, suspended in 2000. Since then, numerous agreements have been signed between the two parties.
