On Wednesday, more than 32 universities in Morocco carried out a one-day strike, involving the suspension of classes, in solidarity with the Gaza Strip which has been exposed to Israeli raids for 12 days.

The National Union of Moroccan Students (NGO), said in a statement seen by Anadolu, that more than 32 universities in the country, including in Agadir (center) and Rabat (north) had organized solidarity marches with the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The organization explained that these universities led a one-day general strike in solidarity with Palestine and denounced the al-ahli Baptist Hospital massacre and the rest of the massacres committed by Israel.

Earlier on Wednesday, Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf Al-Qudra said the death toll from the massacre at the hospital, the largest and most violent committed by the Israeli criminal occupation inside the Gaza Strip, caused the deaths of 471 Palestinians. At least 28 injured people are still in critical condition and 314 others are affected to varying degrees.

The bombing of the hospital sparked a wave of international anger as well as strong condemnation in several capitals. The Israeli attack on civilians sheltering in the hospital was described as a “war crime”.

The Algerian presidency also condemned, in a statement, what it called “a deliberate attack on the Gaza hospital by the occupying forces.”

Israel, however, denied any responsibility for the bombing of the hospital, holding the Islamic Jihad movement responsible, which the latter rejected.

At dawn on Saturday, the Hamas resistance movement and other Palestinian factions launched Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” from Gaza, in response to “relentless attacks by Israeli forces and settlers against the Palestinian people, its properties and its holy sites, in particular, the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied part of East Jerusalem”.
