Morocco’s vaccine supply continues. The Kingdom indeed received a new batch of the vaccine from the Chinese laboratory Sinopharm of 1.6 million doses this Sunday.

The new arrivals arrived aboard a Royal Air Maroc Dreamliner from Beijing, which landed at Mohammed-V airport in Casablanca. And immediately the doses were transported to the Autonomous Refrigeration Authority of Casablanca, to be then distributed to several vaccination centers.

This comes a few days after the Ministry of Health announced the broadening of the base of beneficiaries of the vaccination campaign, whose minimum age has been pushed from 55 to 50 years.

The new arrival will allow the vaccination campaign to regain momentum, and the pace of supply is sure to accelerate in the coming weeks with the imminent new arrival of 2 million doses.

China seems to keep its promise to deliver 10 million doses to Morocco by the end of May.

As a reminder, 5,473,809 people were vaccinated of which 4,390,752 received their second dose. Morocco hopes to vaccinate 80% of its population to achieve collective immunity or nearly 25 million individuals.
