Morocco Orders Four Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners worth $1.1 bln

Morocco’s flag carrier, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), will add four Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners to its fleet for a total cost of $1.1 bln.

Morocco’s flag carrier, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), will add four Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners to its fleet for a total cost of $1.1 bln.

RAM already operates five 787-8 Dreamliners. The new Boeing planes will help the airline expand in South America, North America, the Middle East and Europe.

“Our vision is to be the leading airline in Africa in terms of quality of service, quality of planes and connectivity,” Royal Air Maroc CEO Abdelhamid Addou said in a statement. “Ordering new-generation planes such as the Dreamliner puts our airline on the right track to fulfill our vision.”

In addition to the Dreamliners, RAM has a fleet that includes Boeing 737s, 767s and a 747 jumbojet.

RAM won in 2017 for the fourth year in a row Africa’s best regional airlines award delivered by Skytrax, the world’s leading airline and airport rating agency.

RAM has its main hub in Casablanca Airport. The airline operates a fleet of 47 on mainly Boeing aircraft.
