The oil and gas exploration company Chariot Oil & Gas Limited announced on Wednesday that it had signed an agreement with Morocco for the connection of pipelines.

This agreement, concluded with the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM) will allow Chariot to transport the gas produced by the Anchois gas project, off the coast of Morocco, via the Maghreb-Europe Gas Pipeline to various potential buyers, indicates she in a press release.

The latter indicates that the connection will “ensure access to the main Maghreb Europe (GME) gas pipeline in Morocco, recalling that the latter, owned and operated by ONHYM, extends from eastern Morocco to Tangier in the north and then to Spain.

“I am very pleased to announce the signing of this connection agreement with our partner for the Lixus license, ONHYM. Chariot is thus one step closer to delivering the first gas from the Anchois gas field to potential customers using the GME pipeline,” said Pierre Raillard, Head of Gas & Morocco Activities at Chariot. “The Anchois gas project is a highly strategic project given the continued volatility in global energy markets and its proximity to the international GME pipeline. We are well positioned to bring the gas into service as quickly as possible,” he added.

It should be remembered that the British company revised upwards, last July, the quantity of gas that it thinks is available at the level of the Anchois deposit located off the coast of Larache, following the drilling of the “Anchois-2” well.
