A special envoy from Algeria should arrive in the coming days in Rabat, bearing an official invitation to Morocco to take part in the Arab League Summit. According to the Algerian press, this invitation will be sent to King Mohammed VI for the Pan-Arab Summit to be hosted by the Algerian capital on November 1 and 2.

“The participation of the Kingdom of Morocco in this summit has caused much ink to flow, so it should be noted that according to the established rule, Algeria will send a special envoy to the Kingdom of Morocco, which is considered a moral obligation and a political duty which requires treating all Member States on an equal footing,” writes the newspaper Echorouk . “This is not linked to bilateral relations, but to multilateral relations”, specifies the media close to the Algerian government.

The same source recalled, still with regard to Morocco’s participation in the next Summit, that Algeria “has already participated in two Arab summits in Morocco, at a time when relations between the two countries were in complete rupture”.

These clarifications come after the speech of the head of Moroccan diplomacy, Nasser Bourita, before the session of the Executive Council of the Arab League, held Tuesday in Cairo, during which the minister sent several messages to Algeria. “The international and Arab context requires that the next Summit be held on the basis of a commitment to responsibility and far from any narrow calculations or outdated logic, consolidating the necessary confidence and respecting the roles of each party”, underlined the head of the diplomacy in a speech,” he said.

It should be noted that the head of Algerian diplomacy Ramtane Lamamra went, these last days, to Egypt and Palestine, to give to the presidents of the two countries official invitations to the next Summit of the Arab League.
