Before the end of 2020, an application will allow certain consular centres to respond in time to the various requests that will be submitted to them. The announcement was made on Tuesday in Rabat by Nezha El Ouafi, the minister delegate in charge of Moroccans living abroad.

The aim of this digitization of consular services is to facilitate user access to the various services via an electronic portal. The minister was thus responding to an oral question on “the facilitation and simplification of the procedures for providing services to Moroccans around the world”, presented by the socialist group to the Chamber of Councilors.

This novelty does not stop the process of acceleration of the main services, mainly relating to the withdrawal of certain documents in urgent cases. Nezha El Ouafi notified that since the start of the pandemic, the consulates have ensured the provision of various services to users. It is in this context that his ministry launched a plan dedicated to the reform of the consular system, with a view to bringing consular services closer to Moroccans living abroad, reports MAP.

During the same meeting, the minister looked into another question concerning “Moroccans living abroad are carriers of investment projects”, and which was presented by the group authenticity and modernity. She expressed the need to strengthen the link between all Moroccan skills, wherever they are, with their country, by facilitating investment opportunities. The institutional work is underway, she stressed before adding that there is a national program intended to mobilize Moroccan skills residing abroad aimed at increasing from 4,500 skills to 10,000 on the horizon. 2030.
