Moroccan Photographers and Videographers Exhibit at the Headquarters of the World Bank and the IMF

Nineteen Moroccan photographers and videographers are exhibiting their works in Washington, on the occasion of the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) which are being held from October 10 to 16. 

The collective exhibition is part of the communication plan put in place by the Ministry of Economy and Finance to ensure, over the coming months, the promotion of Morocco as a host country for the meetings of these two institutions. international financial institutions, in October 2023 in Marrakech.

“This exhibition offers a fresh look at Morocco,” said its coordinator, Yassine Alaoui Ismaili, in a statement to MAP.

“These are works that come out of the classic clichés about Morocco while immortalizing the profound changes that Moroccan society is experiencing,” he said.

Organized simultaneously at the headquarters of the World Bank and the IMF, the exhibition reflects a Morocco in motion through breathtaking images releasing an unprecedented instinct of movement. “It’s actually a new way of revisiting and promoting Morocco, through photography, with an emphasis on urban Morocco,” noted the artist photographer who believes that the works on display invite visitors to a visual journey to the new Morocco, its people and its unique landscapes.

Bringing together experienced and budding photographers and videographers, the exhibition also highlights the development of the visual arts in the Kingdom, added Mr. Ismaili. A rich program to promote the Kingdom has been set up in the headquarters of the two international institutions in the heart of Washington, on the occasion of this world conclave marked by the return to face-to-face format after the pandemic.

Several key activities thus highlight the economic, touristic and cultural attractiveness of Morocco and give a foretaste to the delegates of the Member States expected at the annual meetings of the two institutions scheduled for the ocher city next year.
