Mali Peace Agreement: President Keita reiterates his country’s gratitude to Algeria

LOME (Togo) – Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita has reiterated, Saturday in Lomé (Togo), his country’s gratitude to Algeria for its role in the achievement of the Mali Peace and Reconciliation Agreement, stemming from Algiers Process.

In a statement to the press following his discussions with Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, on the sidelines of the African Union Extraordinary Summit on Maritime Security and Safety and Development, the Malian president paid a glowing tribute to Algeria for its role in the achievement of Mali Peace Agreement and its support to his country.

“We are grateful to Algeria for its tremendous support, which allowed Malians to achieve a peace agreement,” he said.

The discussions, attended by Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation  Ramtane Lamamra were an opportunity for the two sides to examine the progress made in the implementation of the Agreement, he added.
