Japan granted a loan of 12 billion yen (the equivalent of 285 million Tunisian dinars) to Tunisia to strengthen social protection in the country.

The signing ceremony of the loan agreement took place at the headquarters of the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the presence of the Japanese Ambassador to Tunisia, OSUGA Takeshi, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians in abroad, Othman JERANDI.

We recall that this funding was announced during TICAD 8, held in Tunis in August 2022. According to a statement from the Japanese Embassy, this loan demonstrates Japan’s support and commitment to the economic and social development of Tunisia, particularly in these times of difficult economic conditions.
