Inauguration of new headquarters of Algeria’s embassy in Helsinki

ALGIERS-Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry Hassane Rabehi, accompanied by Secretary of State of the Foreign Ministry of Finland Peter Stenlund, inaugurated the new headquarters of the embassy of Algeria in Helsinki on Thursday, announced the Foreign Ministry in a communiqué.   

Algeria’s ambassador to Finland Nawel Settouti, representative of Finish official institutions and members of the national community in this country attended the inauguration ceremony.

On this occasion, both officials addressed speeches in which “they hailed excellent relations between both countries and highlighted the importance of the potentialities they have and prospects for win-win cooperation.”

Peter Stenlund expressed “Finland’s high regard for Algeria for the many successes achieved through the reforms launched by President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika in the political, economic and social fields, as well as the constructive action of his diplomacy, his stabilizing role in the region and his contribution to peace and security for the benefit of the international community.”

The inauguration ceremony was preceded by political consultations between both sides that allowed them “assess the state of bilateral cooperation and opportunities to diversify it in the future.”

Both officials “consulted on current international and regional issues and agreed on holding regular political dialogue with a view to ensuring greater coordination of positions between the two countries in the service of peace, stability and development,” stated the source.

Besides, they inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on political consultations between the both countries’ Foreign Ministries, concluded the source.
