How Morocco Wants to Establish Itself in Aeronautical Subcontracting

In competition with other low-cost subcontracting areas to supply aeronautical contractors, Morocco is betting on training its technicians and engineers in Casablanca.

The factory of the Belgian equipment manufacturer Sabca, in Casablanca, is not idle. Here fuselage parts for the Swiss Pilatus business jet, there fuselage parts for an Airbus A 320, in another bay, sub-assemblies for Dassault Aviation Falcon jets. The workshops are cleared, the tools modern, the safety instructions clearly visible. Emerging from the ground in 2021, the site meets the latest modernity criteria for the production of aeronautical parts. “When it leaves the factory, the entire fuselage of the Pilatus PC-12 produced here will be sent to Europe. Only the engine, the landing gear and the avionics will be missing to make it a complete aircraft,” explains Raphaël Samson, the general manager.
