This almost general observation, observed since the return to normal life, would be motivated by the desire to avoid complicated procedures and the conditions required internationally, especially in Europe, as evidenced by the green and red lists decreed on the diplomatic map. of the world.
“With the new geopolitical situation and the uncertain context linked to the pandemic, many Moroccans who used to go to Europe will prefer to stay in Morocco and support our economy, many sectors of which are interdependent,” said Hassan Aboutayeb, consultant. in sustainable tourism.
“This will allow many companies in the tourism sector to take their heads out of the water and it will therefore be a real civic commitment to travel to Morocco,” he added.
Moreover, a large majority of Moroccans have said they want to travel to their country this summer, thus encouraging national preference and supporting national tourism operators in particular, and the Moroccan economy in general, informs MAP.
Sites and a favorable national tourism policy
For the consultant, several dynamics are emerging. Tourism on the Moroccan coast will certainly retain its place as a favorite destination for Moroccans. Thus, the new tourist resort of Taghazout in Agadir, for example, will certainly do well because of its novelty and the communication carried out.
Thus, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) has pushed operators of the tourism sector so that they have a real marketing tool and a clearer vision of the demand of Moroccan travelers. This allows them during this summer to specifically meet the expectations of travelers, in particular through adapted family offers or stays as a couple or with friends.
The privileged activities during the trip could be, for the most part, the beach and idleness, visiting towns, natural sites, historical and architectural heritage, water sports, shopping … These are all reasons for staying and leisure activities to which the country can respond through its great diversity in all of these regions, recalls the MAP.
