Fodhil Boumala and Samir Belarbi have not found their freedom

The request for the release of the two political detainees Fodhil Boumala and Samir Belarbi was refused by the Court of Algiers. As for the political opponent and coordinator of the Democratic and Social Union (UDS), Karim Tabbou, these two well-known figures of Hirak will not be granted parole, before their trial which is not yet scheduled. This is the second rejected request.

Samir Belarbi, like Tabbou, is being prosecuted for demoralizing the army. Fodhil Boumala, on the other hand, is being prosecuted for “undermining the integrity of the national territory”. Today, five protesters, including Samir Leftissi, were tried and released by the Skikda court. They were charged with unarmed assembly. The trial of the 34 Tlemcen demonstrators arrested on December 12 and then released on December 14 for a direct appearance today has been postponed to January 26, 2020.

The number of Hirak detainees is said to exceed 300. Although a few dozen have already served their sentence and left their cells at El-Harrach prison. Similarly, Smaïl Chebili, a public prisoner arrested on Friday, September 27 at the Algiers march, leaves El-Harrach prison and regains his freedom and his family.

Samira Messouci, Amokrane Challal, Elhadi Kichou, and Mustapha Aouissi will leave this Monday the prison of El-Harrach and will find their freedom, after having served their sentence of one year of prison of which 6 months firm, since their arrests on Friday June 28 .

It should be noted that the president of the Youth Action Rally (RAJ) will be heard on Monday, December 30 on the merits, he who was arrested last October. He was sentenced to 1 year in prison, including 6 months suspended by the court in Sidi M’hamed, and then at the Algiers court trial, the sentence was reduced to 6 months in prison, including 3 months suspended.
