The prices of the sea crossing between Spain and Morocco started to rise again, causing the annoyance of travelers and the Tangier Regional Tourism Council. The Spanish authorities recently authorized special lines.

This is a thorny issue that they have faced for years. The dismantling of maritime lines in the semi-public sector, and their granting to foreign private companies which impose their conditions in this sector would be at the origin of this problem. As a result, maritime transport outside and to Morocco turned out to be the most expensive in the entire Mediterranean region.
Before the outbreak of the coronavirus, travelers had pleaded for stability and reasonable pricing. But nothing will. The situation continues to the chagrin of travelers. The responsible ministry still cannot resolve the problem. The Moroccans living abroad (MRE), themselves, are sometimes forced to turn to other shipping lines as those linking the Spanish Moroccan ports.
On the side of the regional council of tourism of Tangier, the feeling is the same. He protested against the exorbitant ticket prices charged by shipping companies.
