According to a source from the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP/official),

Official negotiations between Tunisia and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) around a new financing program will start on July 4th.

This is what a source from the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) told Agence Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP/official), indicating that an IMF delegation will travel to Tunis on Monday to begin negotiations with the Tunisian authorities.

It should be noted “that the amount of financing that the fund will grant to Tunisia under the terms of these negotiations is still unknown”, according to TAP.

On June 22, the Head of Government Najla Bouden announced that she had presented during her meeting with the Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Jihad Azour, the government’s approach to medium-term reforms. and long term, as well as short term measures.

Azour had, on this occasion, “welcomed the publication by the government of its reform plan, calling on the various stakeholders to make common cause to implement it”.
