Babaammi meets in Washington with Tunisian Investment Minister

Finance Minister Hadji Babaammi, met Saturday in Washington with Tunisian Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation, Mohamed Fadhel Abdelkefi.

The discussions between the two ministers held on the sidelines of the Spring Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) focused on the means to reinforce the economic relations between the two countries.

The minister also had discussions with Chairman of the New Development Bank (NBD), K.V. Kamath, who outlined the Bank’s missions to mobilize funding for infrastructure projects and sustainable development in the BRICS countries and other emerging and developing economies.

On the sidelines of his participation in the meetings of the Bretton Woods institutions, Babaammi also met with the African Development Bank (ADB) vice-president for regional development, integration and Business Delivery.

The discussions focused on supporting Algeria in the diversification of its economy, the development of renewable energies and the industrialization of hydrocarbons.

AfDB support could be envisaged through the acquisition of stakes in these projects.
