Emirates Logistics, a subsidiary of the Emirati group Sharaf, inaugurated Friday at the free zone “Tangier Automotive City”, located in the industrial platform Tanger Med, a new logistics center.

The opening ceremony of the center, which offers just-in-time logistics services on finished products, raw materials, and spare parts for industrial companies, took place in the presence of the Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates. (UAE), Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah Alaou, and the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohamed Abdeljalil.

On this occasion, the Emirati Minister of Economy stressed that this logistics center, in addition to its economic and investment importance, reflects the depth and solidity of relations between Morocco and the United Arab Emirates, in particular between the leaders of the two countries.

This inauguration also attests to the willingness of the two countries to increase support economic cooperation and to benefit from their significant experience in vital value-added sectors, including the fields of transport and logistics, he said. to remark.

Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri added that the indicators of the evolution of Emirati investments in Morocco, especially in recent years, in terms of quantity and quality, confirm that Morocco has become an important pole of attraction for foreign investments, especially in the North of the Kingdom.

This region, he continued, has an important geographical location as an essential link between Africa and Europe, in addition to its state-of-the-art infrastructure, noting that these factors have made the North of the Kingdom one of the most important regions in the world, particularly in the logistics and industrial fields.

For her part, Mrs. Fettah Alaoui welcomed the remarkable dimensions of this Emirati project, which constitutes another constituent element of distinguished economic cooperation and solid political relations between Morocco and the United Arab Emirates thanks to the wisdom and foresight of the leaders of the two countries, as well as the judicious vision of HM King Mohammed VI, who has made Morocco in recent years a reference in terms of balanced development, sustainable economy, and unique regional industrial and logistics pole in its kind.

For his part, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohamed Abdeljali, noted that the Emirati investment project will improve the logistics offer in northern Morocco, create new job opportunities and support economic competitiveness and the dynamism of exports, adding that the opening of this center also strengthens the development of cooperation between the two countries in the creation of qualitative logistics platforms, in a region which has a reference port in full transformation structure and development.

King Mohammed VI’s vision for the development of the economy and the strategic location of the Tangier Med port on the main maritime routes has enabled this mega-infrastructure to attract foreign investment with high export value, to facilitate the realization of their projects and to ensure encouraging results, noted Abdeljalil.

For his part, the Director General of the Tangier Med Port Authority (TMPA), Mehdi Tazi Riffi, noted that the new Emirati logistics platform, which covers an area of ​​14,500 m2, has benefited, like international giants, the appropriate conditions that Morocco wishes to provide to investors in the logistics and industrial fields, as well as the general dynamism of the economic situation and the quality export structures of the Tanger Med port.

He also pointed out that the investment component in Tangier Med has experienced strong growth and significant investment flows, which reflects the confidence of investors and the interest they place in a Moroccan economy that is moving forward. big steps.

According to the Emirati group, the new center employs a workforce of 100 people and offers a storage capacity of 15,000 pallets, with a secure mezzanine for the management of 10,000 boxes of electronic parts and 14 docks allowing an incoming and outgoing flow of 80 trucks per day.

Established in Morocco since 2016, Emirates Logistics employs more than 350 professionals, manages 47,600 m2 of storage spread over 5 logistics centers and operates a fleet of 32 trucks.
