Algeria – The Interior Ministry announced on Thursday, December 24, the launch of a digital platform dedicated to the remote collection of civil status documents.

There is no longer any need to go to a town hall to collect your civil status documents. The Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Regional Planning, Kamel Beldjoud launched a digital platform for the online collection of three civil status documents in Algeria. The French-language daily Liberté Algérie reports the information.

Indeed, Kamel Beldjoud spoke at the headquarters of the ministry this Thursday, December 24, for the start of a new service. A digital platform whose objective is to simplify administrative procedures and modernize the public service. It will be fully usable every day of the week. From now on, any Algerian citizen will be able to extract these few documents without going to a town hall. And this, on the electronic site of the ministry (etatcivil.interieur.gov.dz). “Allowing citizens to remotely withdraw their civil status documents or their relatives in real time,” this is indeed what the Minister of the Interior said.

Remote collection of the three documents, namely, birth, marriage and death certificates. According to the manager, these aforementioned documents have the same legal value as those extracted from the counters of the services of the municipality. They are, therefore, secure and tamper-proof, and this, by means of the electronic signature and the QR code (quick response code) they carry.

A remote service that aims to alleviate the overload for citizens
Indeed, Kamel Beldjoud stressed that this digital platform set up aims above all to free the Algerian citizen from a heavyweight. The manager said that with one click, it becomes possible to remove and download the above three pieces of information. All this, with the aim of relieving the inhabitants of Algeria, especially those of remote rural communities. The minister added in particular that the online withdrawal aims not only to make public spending in Algeria more rational. But also, to save more than 62 million sheets printed each year, at the level of vital statistics. That is, an average of 260,000 sheets per day.

In addition to its impact on the rationalization of public expenditure and the reduction of bureaucracy, this service will make it possible to reorient the civil servants stationed at the civil status counters in other functions. In order to match the distribution of human resources to the new orientations of local management. The communicator pointed out that his ministerial department is dedicated to perfecting the latest technical provisions to extend this service to the certificate of residence for which reference will be made to the National Electoral Register. And this, in collaboration with the National Independent Election Authority (ANIE). Thus, Algerian citizens will benefit from a digital platform to collect their supporting documents, or those of their relatives at any time.
