ALGIERS-Five (5) bunkers for terrorists containing weapons, a quantity of ammunitions, explosives and detonation means have been discovered Tuesday by a detachment of the People’s National Army (ANP) in the province of Skikda, announced Wednesday the National Defence Ministry in a communiqué.
“As part of counterterrorism, thanks to the exploitation of information and following a search and combing operation conducted in the area of Oued Dekhil (province of Skikda/5th Military Region), an Army detachment discovered yesterday 11 April 2017 five (5) bunkers for terrorists containing 1 RPG2 rocket launcher, 3 shells for rocket launchers, 5 homemade mines, 5 homemade bombs and a quantity of ammunition, explosives and detonation means,” said the source.
Besides and as part of border security and the fight against smuggling and organized crime, detachments of the Army, the National Gendarmerie and Border Guards intercepted in Tlemcen, Adrar, Biskra and Bordj Badji Mokhtar “56 illegal immigrants of various nationalities.”
Besides, units of the National Gendarmerie thwarted in Annaba (5th Military Region), “an illegal immigration attempt by 14 persons and seized by a homemade craft.”
