Algeria/Cameroon: The Mission of Algerian Businessmen Crowned by the Signing of Several Agreements

The mission carried out in Cameron from January 22 to 28 by an Algerian delegation made up of businessmen from the General Confederation of Algerian Enterprises (CGEA) and public sector operators was crowned by the signing of several memorandums of agreements and “fruitful” discussions, said a statement from the CGEA on Sunday.

The Algerian delegation, which completed its mission on Saturday, January 28, was received in audience by several ministers, including that of External Relations, Economy, Planning, and Regional Development,

Trade, Public Health, Water, Energy, Agriculture, Rural Development, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development, said the same source.

“The delegation had the honor of being received twice also by the Prime Minister of Cameroon,” the statement added.

In addition to the “fruitful” discussions held during these hearings and meetings in Yaoundé and Douala, the mission resulted in the signing of the protocol for the creation of the Algerian-Cameroonian Business Council between the Algerian Chamber of Commerce (CACI) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Handicrafts of Cameroon, as well as the agreement to deepen cooperation between the CGEA and the Inter-employer Grouping of Cameroon (GICAM), said the organization employer.

During this mission, “the signing by Algerian operators of seven (07) memorandums of understanding for the processing of products (corn, coffee, cashew nuts, mango, pineapple, eggs, and barley), as well as the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Interprofessional Grouping of Cameron Entrepreneurs (GIPEC).

More than 30 public and private companies active in different fields took part in this economic mission, in particular from the agri-food, construction, and public works (BTP) sectors, the pharmaceutical industry, household appliances, and electronics.
