Algeria: A trade register for influencers (ministry)

DZ (Algerian) influencers can now benefit from a trade register. 

It’s official, influencers can now enjoy a full legal status in Algeria and claim a trade register. Indeed, the competent services under the Ministry of Commerce announced new measures on April 17, 2021. These then concern the activity of influencers on social networks in our country.

They are therefore assigned a status. It is listed under the code 617040. This is a first in Algeria! According to the National Center for the Trade Register (CNRC), this is an “activity through which one expresses an opinion, an opinion or gives advice (in writing, audio and/or visual)”. All this, “in a specific area”. It is “according to a style or treatment specific to him and that his audience identifies”.

The objective is to allow these content creators to carry out their activities within a legal framework. Note that in recent years, the Algerian web has experienced a whole new trend. It is about a continuous multiplication of influencers, Instagrammers, bloggers, or Youtubers…, etc. They exercise on various social networking platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube, and so on.

The work of influencer, a profession in its own right? 

Influencer marketing is nothing new. Using influential people to promote a brand is a technique that has been practiced for a long time. The novelty lies rather in the evolution of techniques, thanks in particular to digital and social media, and a better organization of practice.

Assimilated to entrepreneurship, this activity becomes above all a must in communication strategies or influencer marketing for several brands. Cristiano Ronaldo was the person who made the most money on Instagram according to a study by Hopper HQ by posting sponsored content in 2019.

He thus touched nearly 42 million euros against about 30 million to play on the field. That is much more than his “main” salary, that of a footballer. In the same vein, Dubai has become the most coveted destination for influencers. The city allows them both to enjoy a paradisiacal setting all year round, but also to grow their business.
