Sick passengers on board Air Algérie: what is planned

To do this,  an e-mail address is made available to passengers requiring assistance as well as telephone numbers.

Nevertheless, what is mentioned theoretically in the procedures must be well implemented in the field.

Passengers requiring medical attention during the flight must be accompanied by a person capable of assisting them and providing them with the necessary care during the journey.

The nature of the assistance must be justified by a document administered by the doctor treating the passenger in question.

“Passengers traveling with injectable treatment, syringes or requiring oxygen must be in possession of a prescription or a medical certificate issued by the attending physician, specifying the nature of the treatment administered or the quantity of oxygen and must be accompanied by medical assistance throughout the duration of their trip  ,”  explains Air Algérie on its website.

It is precisely on this aspect that the national airline has been criticized for a few hours on social networks. At the origin of the controversy, a passenger whose father required the presence of oxygen bottles for his concentrator during the flight.

On the outward journey between Paris and Constantine, the flight had gone well and the passenger in question was taken care of as it should be.  Upon return, the family had to notify as required by the procedure that the dad would need the oxygen bottles.

Except that on D-Day, the family was surprised to see that the bottles were not on board.  In tears, the girl, who is also an influencer on social networks, shared stories on her Instagram account denouncing Air Algérie.
