The United States Embassy in Algeria said that the United States of America will not forget Algeria’s role in the release of American hostages in Tehran in 1981.

The US Embassy posted on its official page via Twitter a video on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of the release of American hostages in Tehran, the place where the negotiations in Algeria took place.

The American diplomat visited the former residence of the American ambassador in Algeria, who witnessed the negotiations, accompanied by his Algerian host.

The spokesman returned on January 20, 1981, during a meeting between Algerian Foreign Minister Saddik Ben Yahia and an American official, noting that the number of hostages was 52 hostages, tired and happy to be in Algeria.
