Tunisia: The Ministry of Communication Technologies Launches the Digital National Identity Project

During a press conference held this Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at the headquarters of the government presidency in the Kasbah, the Minister of Communication Technologies, Nizar Ben Néji, announced the launch of the first digital national identity project. intended for citizens via mobile phone.

Ben Néji stressed that this project will be the basis for the digitization of public administrative services and the electronic key that will allow secure access to portals and digital platforms of the State.

“This is the tool that will verify electronic identity and signature in order to obtain official documents without having to travel. It is also the basis of the system that will put an end to bureaucracy, in addition to guaranteeing efficiency, transparency and quality,” he said.

He also indicated that this service will be free in its experimental phase.

Note that the e-houwiya.tn site will be the first access for consultation, updating and cancellation of codes or for any complaint.
