The President of the Republic of Tunisia, Kaïs Saïed received the Minister of the Interior, Taoufik Charfeddine, yesterday Wednesday, at the Palace of Carthage to discuss the security situation in the country.

This is what emerges from a press release made public by the Presidency of the Republic and relayed by the Tunis Afrique Presse Agency (TAP/official).

The Head of State affirmed that the right to organize security forces is provided for by the Constitution, stressing, however, that the Security Forces do not have the right to strike.

He reiterated his call to unify the unions of the security corps under a single union structure, called the Tunisian General Union of Internal Security Forces, which deals only with the social concerns of its affiliates.
