The Minister of Economy and Planning, Feryel Ouerghi, met on May 26, 2024, in Tunis with the Deputy Secretary General of COMESA, Mohamed Kadah, to discuss prospects for cooperation within the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa.

Mohamed Kadah stressed the importance of CIF 2024 to sensitize economic actors on investment, trade, and cooperation opportunities in each COMESA member country. For her part, the minister affirmed that Tunisia is ready to facilitate trade within COMESA and that its membership in this market confirms its commitment to Africa.

The CIF 2024 in Tunis, next Thursday, will bring together policymakers, financiers, industrialists, and investors to promote trade and investment in the COMESA region. More than 150 participants are expected, with a focus on key sectors such as agro-industry, pharmaceutical industry, renewable energies, and information technologies.
