The Francophonie Summit is scheduled for November 19 and 20 in Djerba

The Head of the Tunisian Government, Najla Bouden received on Thursday, the French Ambassador to Tunisia, André Parant, at the Kasbah Palace.

The interview focused on the preparations undertaken in anticipation of the Francophonie Summit scheduled for Djerba next November as well as on the negotiations between Tunisia and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Bouden reviewed the results of the working visit she made to France at the end of August and underlined the need to start the preparations for the 4th session of the High Council for Tunisian-French Cooperation which will take place on next year in Paris.

On the other hand, the Head of Government welcomed the agreement reached with her social partners which, according to her, will help to push in the right direction the negotiations between Tunisia and the IMF to implement urgent economic reforms.

For his part, the French diplomat expressed his country’s commitment to supporting Tunisia in its negotiations with this financial institution, welcoming the agreement reached between the Tunisian government and its social partners.
